The introduction of the VX18R heralds the beginning of a whole new category of WaveRunners for Yamaha. For the first time, an agile and lightweight NanoXcel version of the VX hull has been combined with the extremely powerful 1,812cc engine, more commonly found in Yamaha’s larger FX series. The result is a performance craft that delivers incredible levels of acceleration, impressive top speeds and agile handling like nothing else on the water. The VX18R deliver all this while still being an affordable package for a wide range of water sports enthusiasts.

The VX18R feature a semi-V multi-chine hull for neutral handling, optimum stability and comfort. A round keel delivers grip and balance during cornering.

The use of NanoXcel hull constuction, a patented lightweight material exclusive to Yamaha’s WaveRunner range, dramatically reduces weight for increased agility and more efficient fuel consumption. Yamaha’s NanoXcel hull construction is much stronger than conventional hull material and also up to 25% lighter. Not only is this material superior in function, the overall finish is perfectly smooth and of a quality no other PWC manufacturer can claim to match.

Semi-V Multi Chine Hull

A semi-V multi chine hull allows the VX18R to offer the full package: neutral handling, stability, and comfort. Its rounded keel shape has a slightly wider front section, which helps to give a great balance between grip and controllable sliding in turns. Overall, the shape of the VX18R is designed for one thing: ultimate agility on the water.

Engine

This 1812cc Yamaha Marine engine is the largest displacement engine ever offered in a personal watercraft. It is also the only engine in the high-performance, four-stroke category optimized to run on the least expensive regular unleaded fuel.

Low RPM/Security Mode

With the ability to control both Low RPM Mode and Security Mode, the remote transmitter can be used to increase fuel-efficiency or disable the engine to prevent unauthorized start-ups.

Sport-Bolstered Seat

The all-new, sport-bolstered seat is ergonomically designed and contoured for added support during extreme riding conditions.

NanoXcel® for the Lightest Hull in its Class

The combination of an extremely lightweight hull and deck – constructed using NanoXcel® technology – helps achieve superb acceleration, top speed, agility and fuel efficiency. NanoXcel® creates an incredibly strong intermolecular bond and a smoother surface compared to conventional manufacturing methods. It's also 25% lighter.

Reboarding Step

The VX18R's re-boarding step makes it so easy to get out of the water and back onto the machine that it's the perfect choice for any watersports fan. Swim Platform

Roomy and comfortable, the extended rear platform is the ideal place for soaking up the surroundings, getting in and out of the water or gearing up for wakeboarding.

Dash

Provides a quick read on speed, RPM, fuel level with low fuel warning, low oil pressure warning, hour meter and check engine light with self-diagnostic function.

All Yamaha WaveRunners utilise open loop cooling, which is used by 99% of marine manufacturers. Open loop systems have been proven to be the most effective, reliable and maintenance free solution for marine environments, which means less money and less time off the water.
